UAE terrain
MVRsimulation’s United Arab Emirates (UAE) terrain includes a new area of interest (AOI) of a large district in the Abu Dhabi District in the northwest of the country. This area includes a large portion of the Emirates, including Dalma Island, Sir Baniyas Island, Higher Yasat, Lower Yasat, Al Ruways Industrial City, Al Dhannah City, Al Hamra, Shuweihat Island, and Barakah.
The AOI was produced using 50cm imagery and 30 meter SRTM elevation data. Over 9,370 road segments from OSM are compiled into the terrain, along with 3080 powerline segments from UAE open data and 377 OSM wall segments.
More than 16,960 building footprints from OSM are compiled into the terrain and extruded using a CityEngine rule file created by MVRsimulation. Geotypical trees from VRSG’s culture model libraries are compiled throughout.
MVRsimulation’s UAE terrain also includes an AOI virtual replica of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with over 6,000 realistic 3D buildings generated with Esri CityEngine.
