Hard Drives for 3D Terrain Database Storage
Direct attached large volume
The Terramaster D2-320 2-bay USB-C 10Gbps RAID 0 storage enclosure is a collection of hard drives in a direct attached large volume (DALV) configuration. For optimal performance, this storage device requires a USB 3.1 Gen2 or higher port for use with a single computer system and is not intended to be networked to multiple devices. For multi-computer simulators, see the MVRsimulation Terrain Network Attached Storage or MVRsimulation Terrain Server system.
The DALV device is delivered preloaded with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG7 3D terrain (MDS); all of CONUS++ and terrain of the world. The MVRsimulation 3D content on this DALV terrain drive includes both 3D terrain and cultural features. The cultural feature models on the terrain are in MVRsimulation's model format (.HPY) and are accompanied by cultural feature description files (.CLT).

NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE (NAS) FOR MULTI-COMPUTER SIMULATORS
The MVRsimulation Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is a storage appliance with approximately 80+ TB space for terrain database tiles for use with MVRsimulation Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG7) software. The storage appliance is designed to provide optimized high bandwidth data throughput over either a 1-Gbit (up to five attached IGs) or 10-Gbit back bone network switch which then connects to any existing 1-Gbit network. The Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device specification provided below can service between five to ten VRSG7 IGs and can be modified to support additional IG systems. The Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is delivered populated with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG7 terrain (MDS); that is, all of CONUS++ and terrain of the world.
You can order the Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device preloaded with MVRsimulation terrain by requsting a quotation from sales@mvrsimulation.com.
Terrain server for multi-computer simulators
The MVRsimulation Terrain Server is a high-end system with over 100TB storage capacity, which stores terrain database tiles for use with VRSG IG systems. The system is designed to provide optimized high bandwidth data throughput over a 10Gbit back bone network switch which then connects to any existing 1Gbit network.
The Terrain Server can service up to twenty-four VRSG IGs and can be modified to support additional IG systems. The Terrain Server is delivered populated with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG7 terrain (MDS); that is, all of CONUS++ and terrain of the world.
