Hard Drives for 3D Terrain Database Storage
MVRsimulation offers three devices for 3D terrain database delivery and storage: a direct attached large volume (DALV) device, a smaller device for terrain of a region, and a terrain server that can service up to twenty-four or more VRSG IGs.
Direct attached large volume
The HighPoint RocketStor 6114V 4-bay USB-C RAID storage enclosure is a collection of hard drives in a direct attached large volume (DALV) configuration. For optimal performance, this storage device requires a USB 3.1 port for use with a single computer system and is not intended to be networked to multiple devices. For multi-computer simulators, see the MVRsimulation Terrain Network Attached Storage or MVRsimulation Terrain Server system.
The DALV device is delivered preloaded with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG 3D terrain (MDS); all of CONUS++ and other regions of the world. The MVRsimulation 3D content on this DALV terrain drive includes both 3D terrain and cultural features.
The cultural feature models on the terrain are in MVRsimulation's model format (.HPY) and are accompanied by cultural feature description files (.CLT).Terrain storage for a geographic region.
NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE (NAS) FOR MULTI-COMPUTER SIMULATORS
The Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device stores up to 21 TB terrain database tiles for use with VRSG software on a limited number of MVRsimulation Extreme Desktop System image generator (IG) systems. The system is designed to provide optimized high bandwidth data throughput over either a 1-Gbit (up to five attached IGs) or 10-Gbit back bone network switch which then connects to any existing 1-Gbit network.
The Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device can serve a cluster of five to ten VRSG IGs and can be modified to support additional IG systems. The Terrain Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is delivered populated with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG terrain (MDS); all of CONUS++ and other regions of the world.
Terrain server for multi-computer simulators
The MVRsimulation Terrain Server is a high-end system with over 100TB storage capacity, which stores terrain database tiles for use with VRSG IG systems. The system is designed to provide optimized high bandwidth data throughput over a 10Gbit back bone network switch which then connects to any existing 1Gbit network.
The Terrain Server can service up to twenty-four VRSG IGs and can be modified to support additional IG systems. The Terrain Server is delivered populated with all of MVRsimulation's round-earth VRSG 3D terrain (MDS); all of CONUS++ and other regions of the world.
These terrain drives are sold only in conjunction with a MVRsimulation Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG) or Terrain Tools for Esri ArcGIS software purchase.
