MVRsimulation's LSD-42 USS Germantown model is comprised of 390,598 polygons and 1.28 GB of textures. The model features switch states for port and starboard cranes, davit, port and starboard gangways, stern gate, flight deck railing, and damage state. It has articulated propellers and radar antennae.
The Whidbey Island Class LSD-42 is used by the US Navy to support amphibious operations. The vessel transports air-cushioned (LCAC) landing craft, amphibious vehicles, personnel, and troops to amphibious landing areas. The vessel also provides landing facilities for helicopters, and docking and repair facilities for a range of military, utility, and personnel landing craft.
